Supporting Workers, Improving Lives
Workplace Wellness The Labourers’ International Union of North America has grown to represent and advocate for workers across various sectors, from construction to hospitality in North America.
Since 1903, the Labourers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA) has been at the forefront of defending the rights of the men and women who build communities across North America. LiUNA has grown to represent and advocate for workers across various sectors, from construction to hospitality. Through the implementation of health and safety training programs across Ontario, members are obligated to stay up-to-date with training to ensure they’re safe during their commute and on the job site. LiUNA’s Health and Safety catalogue assists in this through a multitude of innovative programs, including a tunnel rescue training course offered at its Vaughan Training Campus.
The price of going to work should never be life itself. Through the collective efforts of LiUNA Training Centres, LiUNA Canadian Tri-Funds, and the Labourers’ Health and Safety Fund, we’re making a difference in improving the lives of our workers. However, we must continue to improve preventative education so that each worker feels confident and secure on the job.
With honour and respect, LiUNA remembers our brothers and sisters who have lost their lives or suffered injury or illness as a result of workplace incidents. We acknowledge their courage and strength and their commitment to LiUNA.
